Health Science Broad Field

The Health Sciences Bridge Certificate is designed to be an educational "bridge" for people who already have a degree in another field and are interested in transitioning into a healthcare career. The program provides foundational coursework in biology, anatomy and physiology, psychology, and statistics, which are commonly required for admission to nursing and other health science programs. By completing these courses, students build the science and math background needed for success in further healthcare studies. This certificate helps learners prepare for the next step toward a career in the medical field.

The Health Science Broad Field Associate of Science (AS) degree offers students a variety of health-related coursework that will directly transfer to a variety of healthcare, medical, and human services related bachelor's degree programs. This curriculum includes instruction in the basic sciences and subject matter related to various health occupations, including biology, anatomy & physiology, psychology, and mathematics. The suggested degree plan includes 12 elective credits for students to tailor the Health Science Broad Field AS degree to a professional healthcare career path.

Once you complete this two-year associate degree, you'll be ready to pursue your bachelor's degree at any Minnesota State universities. This program is also a great choice if you already have a degree but are working on completing prerequisite coursework for grad school or a nursing post-baccalaureate program.
