Commencement will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024
We are looking forward to celebrating our graduates with an in-person Commencement ceremony on May 8 at the Runestone Community Center! The ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm and will honor graduates of Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024.
Accessible parking will be near Door B. Golf carts will be available to shuttle guests from general parking to the ceremony.
This event will be livestreamed for those who are not able to attend in person.
GRADUATES: Doors will open at 11:00 am and all grads should plan to arrive no later than 12:00 pm. No tickets or reservations required.

Where to Watch
Friends and family are welcome to attend this year's event in person at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria, MN - no tickets or RSVP are required. The commencement ceremony will be livestreamed here at alextech.edu/graduation, and on our Facebook and YouTube pages. Like and Subscribe using the links below:
Grad Fair
One stop to prepare for graduation! Wednesday, March 27 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm in Gym 120.
- Fill out your graduation application if you have not already completed one
- Reserve your gown if you will not be on campus during pick-up days in May
- Have a professional headshot taken
- Verify your financial aid and commencement info, and more
Caps + Gowns
Gowns are provided at no cost to grads, but must be returned after the ceremony. Caps/tassels will be yours to keep.
Law Enforcement grads: You DO NOT need to pick up a cap and gown. You will wear your uniform, and Tom Larson will have your tassels and other items at the practice on May 7. See your email for details.
Graduation gowns can be picked up in room 308 (Student Life):
- Wednesday, May 1 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Thursday, May 2 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Monday, May 6 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Additional items:
- Students who are in PTK will be given stoles at gown pick-up, to be returned after the ceremony.
- Students who are military should request a Patriotic Cord to keep. Please request when you pick up your cap and gown.
- Students graduating with Honors will receive an Honors tassel.

Reserved items will be available for pick up from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (prior to the ceremony) on May 8. A reminder email will be sent to you the Monday of Commencement week.
