Engineering Technology

The Engineering Technology AAS program prepares students to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of engineers. Includes instruction in various engineering functions involving design, construction, installation, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, research, production, operations, and applications to specific engineering specialties.The curriculum in this program is specifically designed for students who have had training in any engineering technology type occupation while serving in a branch of the military, or who have previous college coursework in fields such as: Machine Tool, Mechatronics, Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Design, Fluid Power Technology, Electrical Technology, and more. Prior coursework in related fields may apply toward degree completion.

The Engineering Technology AS program prepares students with the foundational STEM knowledge needed to pursue a bachelor of science degree in a wide variety of Engineering Technology disciplines. The program is designed to provide a science-focused education that encompasses the complete Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC). The program has an active articulation agreement with Bemidji State University, but courses may transfer to other university degree programs as well.

The Engineering Technology Certificate includes the lower division math and science courses required to major in engineering technologies at the bachelor's level. Coursework applies toward the Engineering Technology AAS degree.
