POLICY STATEMENT

Purpose

To recognize the work and achievements of a student who completed a significant amount of the requirements for a degree, diploma, or certificate but dies before the degree, diploma, or certificate is conferred.

Definition

Posthumous Academic Award: A degree, diploma, or certificate awarded after the recipient’s death.

Authorization

Alexandria Technical and Community College may confer posthumous degrees, diplomas, or certificates in compliance with Minnesota State system procedures.
