Our Commitment to Accessibility

Alexandria Technical and Community College is committed to providing an inclusive environment where all individuals have equal access to college programs, services, and information.

We strive to ensure that our campus facilities, academic programs, services, and digital resources are accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and ATCC continuously works to improve the accessibility and usability of our websites, digital content, and physical spaces.

Accessibility Accommodations for Students

Students who need disability-related academic accommodations should contact Accessibility Services to begin the accommodation process.

Accessibility Accommodations for Employees

Employees who need disability-related workplace accommodations should contact Human Resources.

Human Resources can assist with requests for reasonable workplace accommodations and provide guidance on the interactive accommodation process.

Accessibility of Programs, Services, and Facilities

In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Alexandria Technical and Community College does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its programs, services, or activities.

The college provides reasonable accommodations and auxiliary aids to ensure individuals with disabilities have equal access to educational programs, services, and campus facilities.

Examples of accommodations may include:

• Sign language interpreters
• Accessible course materials
• Assistive technology
• Alternative media formats
• Accessible facilities and learning environments

Event Accessibility Accommodations

Alexandria Technical and Community College is committed to creating inclusive and accessible events. If you need reasonable accommodation to attend a campus-sponsored event, please email accessibility@alextech.edu. Early notice helps ensure appropriate accommodations can be arranged.

Digital Accessibility

Alexandria Technical and Community College is committed to ensuring its digital content is accessible to all users and is actively working toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA in alignment with federal accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Our goal is to ensure that individuals using assistive technologies—such as screen readers, speech recognition software, or keyboard navigation—can access our digital information and services.

We work toward meeting accessibility standards including:

• Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
• Minnesota State System Digital Accessibility Standards

Our goal is to ensure users can:

• Navigate websites using a keyboard
• Access content using screen readers and assistive technologies
• View captions and transcripts for multimedia content
• Read accessible documents and course materials
• Use online forms and services without accessibility barriers

Because ATCC maintains a large and evolving digital environment, some legacy content may not yet fully meet accessibility standards. We are actively working to review and improve our digital content so it is accessible to all users.

Report an Accessibility Issue

Alexandria Technical and Community College welcomes feedback on the accessibility of our websites, programs, and services. If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. Your feedback helps us improve access for all members of our community.

General feedback about accessibility can be submitted through our online Reporting Form under “Other.” Please be as detailed as possible.

If you experience difficulty accessing information on the ATCC website or need digital content provided in an alternative format, please email accessibility@alextech.edu so we can assist you promptly.

When reporting a digital accessibility issue, please include:

• Webpage address (URL)
• A description of the issue
• Assistive technology you are using (if applicable)

ADA Coordinators

Alexandria Technical and Community College is committed to ensuring equal access to college programs, services, and facilities.

Concerns or complaints related to accessibility of college programs, services, or activities may be directed to the college’s ADA Coordinators.
