Safety Coordinator
Alexandria Technical and Community College employs student security workers that provide security services to assist in protecting students, employees, and visitors. They are on duty in the Main Building and Office and Information Technology Center (700 Building)/Law Enforcement Center complex from 5:00 PM until the building closes; Monday through Thursday during regularly scheduled school days.
They are located at the main entrance to each of these buildings. The student security workers may be contacted by phone at the following numbers if you need assistance or need to report a security breach:
Main Building Security: 320-304-1451
700 Building Security: 320-304-1458
Upon receiving reports of alleged criminal activity, the Safety Coordinator in conjunction with the President or their designee, will decide if the alleged criminal activity is a significant emergency or dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees on the campus. If this type of threat exists, an immediate warning will be sent out informing the campus community of this threat. Warnings will be published using the Star Alert mass notification system, class announcements, e-mail, and the campus paging system, unless issuing a notification would compromise efforts to contain the emergency.
Alexandria Technical and Community College issues an annual report of reported crimes alleged to have occurred on college property to the United States Department of Education. It includes the following reports of crime: murder/non-negligent manslaughter, manslaughter by negligence, rape, fondling, incest, statutory rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, arson, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, illegal weapons violations, drug law violations, liquor law violations, and hate crimes involving larceny-theft, simple assault, intimidation and destruction, damage or vandalism of property.
