Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) is approved by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) and Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding (DOD MOU) to administer benefits for eligible military-connected students.

Applying for Military and VA Benefits

Students must apply for their respective military and VA benefits that they are qualified for before they can receive these funds (Minnesota GI Bill, Federal Tuition Assistance, State Tuition Reimbursement, etc.). ATCC Veterans Services and designated MDVA staff can assist with understanding of eligibility and completion of the application process. Contact information is available on the Veterans Services website.

ATCC Procedures

Students must complete the ATCC Military and VA Benefits Request online form for each semester they plan to use their benefits.

When applicable, students are responsible for monthly enrollment verification. The student is also responsible for reporting changes to their enrollment and/or program to the School Certifying Official as soon as they occur.

Benefits and Leaves of Absence
For students receiving benefits, if that a student receives military orders or is absent due to a service-connected medical condition, the student is responsible for communicating with Veterans Services, the Registrar’s Office, and their instructors to make the appropriate accommodations as outlined in ATCC Procedure 5.12.1.
