Securing the connected world is one of the biggest daily challenges faced globally. Alexandria Technical & Community College cyber defense programs prepare students with the top-notch skills they need to evaluate, secure, and remediate at-risk computer and networked systems. Graduates are prepared for employment in computer security related careers, including cybersecurity, network security, information assurance, and incident investigation, all high demand fields.

The mission of the Alexandria Technical and Community College’s Center for Cybersecurity is help students increase their knowledge and skills in key areas of information technology and cybersecurity to prepare them to make a contribution to the field of cybersecurity and information technology.

Our cybersecurity programs support the mission of Alexandria Technical & Community College to create opportunity for individuals and businesses through education, innovation, and leadership. The college's high-quality technical and transfer programs and services meet their needs, interests, and abilities and strengthen the economic, social, and cultural life of Minnesota's communities. The program works with industry professionals to make sure our students receive the most innovative relevant education for their field.


Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD)

Alexandria College was designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2022. The CAE-CD designation indicates that Alexandria College is helping reduce threats to our national infrastructure by promoting higher education in cyber defense and providing the nation with a pipeline of qualified cybersecurity professionals.

Programs of Study

The Cybersecurity, Virtualization, and Networking AAS provides students with a two-year comprehensive education, teaching the technical and organizational skills needed to design, configure, and build computer networks and develop and create cybersecurity infrastructure for business and industry. The one-year Cybersecurity Certificate focuses primarily on network cybersecurity, and is deal for working professionals who want to enhance their skills in cyber defense. This program is offered 100% online. Learn more »

The Computer Information Systems AS includes 30 general education credits from within the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC), and 30 technical credits in the field of computer science. Intended for students who wish to transfer to complete a bachelor's degree, the program exposes students to hardware, database and spreadsheet applications, and Windows, and can be tailored to meet each student's individual transfer goals. Learn more »

ATCC Security Awareness

ATCC has several layers of computer security on campus. Each computer device has an antivirus on it and our network has a layer of real-time virus scanning as well. “Stop, Look, & Think” is our motto.
