Alexandria Technical & Community College will auction off a 3 BR, 1-3/4 BA home built by students in the Carpentry program. Auction proceeds go back into the carpentry program, funding materials, equipment, and next year’s home build.

  • The house is an energy efficient 3 BR, 1-3/4 BA Rambler with cantilevered floor. The building area is approx. 1400 square feet (28' x 50'). Home pictured was built in 2025 and this year's build may vary slightly. See documents section below for floor plans.

Purchaser Expectations

BIDDING
  • Minimum bid: $115,000
  • Bid increments: $5,000 at the opening
PURCHASE
  • Purchaser will provide $5,000 earnest money at auction, check payable to Alexandria Technical & Community College.
  • Purchase agreement must be signed on or before June 26, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
PAYMENT
  • Balance of bid price paid by 3:00 pm on August 3, 2026.
  • Balance includes Minnesota sales tax of 7.375% on 65% of the purchase price. Earnest money will be applied toward purchase price.
POSSESSION
  • Once purchase agreement is executed, buyer must arrange for and pay for removal of house from college property. Buyer must maintain insurance.
