Courses taken through the Distance Minnesota partnerships, or seats that have been partnered to Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) from other Minnesota State (MinnState) colleges, will be treated the same as local courses in the administration of academic and financial aid policies. For example, the courses will count both in cumulative grade point average and percentage of completion rates for determining academic status (satisfactory academic progress, dean's list, graduating with honors, financial aid applicability, and program residency). Students do not need to be accepted to a major to take partnered courses.
ATCC students may take non-partnered courses through other MinnState Colleges and Universities as a visiting student. Non-partnered courses are not listed on the ATCC transcript, and therefore, do not count towards the ATCC grade point average or percentage of completion. Non-partnered courses are treated in the same manner as transfer courses, and may meet graduation requirements and retain financial aid eligibility if they are applicable to the student’s major. ATCC students taking courses as a visiting student at another MinnState college or university are subject to that institution’s policies and procedures.
