Satisfactory Academic Progress policy

  • Poor academic performance in college courses will impact the student’s permanent college record and may affect high school graduation.
  • All college students are required to maintain satisfactory academic standing. Not maintaining a satisfactory standing will lead to a warning or suspension status. A suspension status may lead to academic suspension from the college and/or future loss of financial aid (including grants, loans, work study, etc.)
  • Qualitative Standard/Grade Point Average: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative ATCC grade point average (GPA) at all times.
  • Quantitative Standard/Completion Percent: Students must complete, with a passing grade, at least 67% of their cumulative registered credits. At the end of each semester, the number of credits the student attempted (registered for) is used to determine whether the student is progressing at a satisfactory rate.
  • A suspension status may cause denied admission to a future college or denied financial aid at a future college
  • Please refer to Procedure 2.9.1
