
Program Overview
The Interior Design AAS program is developed for the person who desires a career in the field of interior design. Students may focus on kitchen and bath, residential, or commercial design. The program consists of 68 credits of classroom instruction followed by a 4 credit internship.
An important aspect of the Interior Design program is participation in professional organizations at a student level, competitions, and a variety of field trip experiences
Qualifications
This Interior Design program has been established for men and women who have a strong desire to affect people’s lives through the field of interior design. Applicants should enjoy interacting with people, be perceptive and have an interest in style and the fine arts. High school courses in interior design, architectural drawing, art, art appreciation, marketing, sales and computer skills are strongly recommended for enrollment in this program. Enrollees should understand that most employers require sales work of varying types and degrees.
